Aren't you curious to know about how to build our buildings with what kind of scientific principles and how they were built in the old days? The buildings we live in are mainly in the form of housing.
The first kind is a wooden house. It is lighter than other materials and have lower thermal conductivity, which is advantageous for insulation. And the material itself is beautiful and easy to handle. However, if there are good points, there are bad points too. Since the tensile strength is weak, there is a limit to the space of the columns. So, there is a disadvantage that there is a problem in durability such as easy combustion and decay. Most houses in Korea are based on wooden houses. It is a type of mixed stone used, but expensive imported materials are currently used.
Secondly, there is a Masonry House. It is usually used in small buildings, as they are stacked with mortar. And they also used in four-five-floor buildings. You don't know what mortar means, do you? Mortar means that the cement and sand are mixed with water at a weight ratio of 1:1 or 1:3. The advantage of this is that it is durable, fire resistant, economical and the most common. The disadvantage is! In case of long walls, the thickness of the walls must be thicker or stacked in bumps.
Finally, there is a reinforced concrete & steel-frame house. Reinforced concrete is a combination of strong compressive strength of concrete and strong tensile strength of reinforcing steel. Concrete is made of cement, sand and gravel mixed with water at appropriate mixing ratio. The steel frame is a structure that welds, bolts and rivets various kinds of steels produced in factories and has the characteristic of being a furniture-like structure.
You've looked at the shape of the houses. If so, don't you want to know about the format of the house? There are three types of housing : detached houses, row houses, and apartments.
Single-family house is a form of building on a single housing site for single households, similar to that of a row house, but more than one side of the building is bordered by neighbors. Apartments are designed to manage everything in one unit, with the exception of one unit housing.
Now, let me tell you about the features of old construction technology. At the Paleolithic Age, people built a burial house, and at the Neolithic Age, a mud hut were built. In both periods, houses were built with roof structures on the bottom and top of semi-basement floors. Most of the houses in the Joseon Dynasty were built in the form of houses, and they were built with mud mixed with straw between the pillars and the pillars. They cut straw into the mud and mixed it together to build walls and put stones between. If there is this type of housing in our country, it will be in the West too? The ancient western houses were primarily built with of earth bricks, and special decorative parts were mostly made of polished tiles. Roman houses imitated many Persian houses, but stone and brick materials, have the structural characteristics of concrete hardened by lime mortar. But in most areas, houses with branches and soil were still common. Medieval western houses influenced their housing styles, such as war and theft. The nobles are made by thick outer walls like stones and bricks to prepare for foreign invasions, and the windows were made very small. Because the walls were built around the city, it became a three floor, four floor form instead of the first floor.
